Jack the Ripper Walk

After our nap, we go on the Jack the Ripper Walk, a tour of East End sites related to Jack the Ripper.

The tour is led by Donald Rumbelow, who has written several books on the subject.

The tour starts on Tower Hill, overlooking the Tower of London and the Thames, next to London Wall, which was built by the Romans to protect the original City of London

To this day, the City is a small, old part of London, with its own police force, courts, etc.  Jack the Ripper worked the border between the City of London and the East End, which is part of the wider metropolis of London, exploiting the lack of coordination between the different police forces.
