Canongate Tolbooth
Canongate Tolbooth
We stop by the Canongate Tolbooth, which served as a prison that held Coventers, important in the Scottish Reformation. It is now a tavern, Tolbooth Tavern, where we stop for a drink. It has been a tavern since 1820, and has been haunted for its entire history. We walk by Canongate Kirk, a church that was important in the Reformation, and around the exterior of the beautiful but abandoned Tron Kirk.
